Pão da Terra opened in August 2017 as one of the Porto region's early sourdough revivalists, located inside the renovated Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos. The bakery works exclusively with organic flours ground in stone mills, and breads are slow-fermented across long timescales - closer to how Portuguese village bakers worked a century ago than to modern industrial production.
