An impulsive afternoon stop in Donau turned into a pleasant surprise when I found a mix of Austrian and Portuguese dishes on one menu. The food was fantastic and I was well cared-for by the staff. I can't wait to go back for dinner sometime soon.
DONAU is the project of Rick Lins, an Austrian from Dünserberg, and Sara Rafael, from Lisbon - both artists. Rick split his time between fine arts and cooking in Viennese restaurants and bars; Sara worked in photography and experimental music. They opened DONAU as a café, restaurant, and cultural space - the name is the German for the Danube.
